Chocolate Chip Gingersnaps

Well usually I am a fan of adding chocolate to anything. Chocolate makes everything taste better right? Well, though these cookies were delicious and very yummy to my tummy, I think that I was really in the mood for a plain old gingersnap. But if ever you are in need of something new do try adding some mini chocolate chips to your favorite gingersnap recipe.

Necklaces made from washers.

It is reversible.
So my friend Heather Adams turned me onto these cute necklaces made out of metal washers and ribbon. Being who I am I had to take it one step further. I wanted to see what they would look like covered in paper. I think they turned out cute but the jury is still out as to if all the work was worth the final product. Tell me what you think. Here is a tutorial and what it looks like without paper.

She also has a link to a tutorial here as well. They are quite easy once you get the method down. Fun Christmas gift ideas for friends and teachers.

Pillow Case Dresses

So I made these pillow case dresses for around six dollars a piece including thread. They were so easy and fun to make and the girls look so cute wearing them. You can find the basic tutorial at freshlypickled.blogspot.com, but I of course used box pleats instead of elastic around the front and back. I used coordinating fabric to trim off around the top and or the straps. I then embelished them with some fabric flowers and a trim piece along the bottom to tie everything together. Using the tutoriol as is would be even simpler.

More to Come I Promise

It has been a while since I have tried something new, but I promise there is more to come. Car seat covers, twirly skirts, and some fun bib and onsie combinations. Just hold hold tight, but don't hold your breath.

I finally finished the 2nd skirt in this collection. It is a cute skirt that measure 18" in the waist and is 7.5" long it is meant to come just to and a little below the knee. Because it is shorter than my other skirts I have made a pair of bloomers to go with it to cover up those unsightly diapers.

Lemonade Twirly skirt 4T-5T
The colors in this skirt remind me of a glass of lemonade on a hot summer day. The skirt has been pre-washed for shrinkage. It is made of 100% cotton and is fully lined. The ruffle at the bottom is pleated and trimmed in rickrack and left raw at the edge for a little more detail. The skirts waist measures 20” and is 14.5 “ long. It is designed to come below the knee. This skirt is currently only available in the one size. I am still working on the others.
